Why Base 1520? The Mission Behind the Movement
In a world where fitness is often reduced to aesthetics, competition, and self-glorification, Base 1520 exists to reclaim the purpose of physical and mental training for something far greater—the advancement of the Gospel.
We don’t train just to look good. We don’t work out just to be strong. We train to be fit for the mission, faithful to our calling, and fearless in the face of adversity.
The church has spent decades focusing on theology and spiritual disciplines, while largely neglecting physical and mental resilience. But the truth is, we are whole beings—body, mind, and spirit—and God calls us to steward each one for His glory.
Base 1520 was created to bridge this gap, calling believers to rise up and train for the Kingdom with the same discipline and intensity as elite warriors preparing for battle.
The Name: Base 1520
Our name is intentional. Base represents a foundation—a place of preparation, a launching point for the mission ahead.
1520 is rooted in Romans 15:20, where Paul declares:
“It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.”
This is the heartbeat of Base 1520. We train so that we can GO—physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared to reach the unreached, serve the church, and fulfill the Great Commission.
The Mission: Training for the Kingdom
Most fitness programs focus on personal achievement. Base 1520 is different.
Our mission is clear:
“We exist for the advancement of the Gospel to the unreached and unengaged through the physical and mental preparation of the believer.”
This means that every push-up, every mile run, every weight lifted is not just about self-improvement—it’s about being ready for the calling God has placed on your life.
We train because:
✔ Mission work is physically demanding. Carrying Bibles into remote villages, hiking to reach unreached people groups, or simply having the stamina to preach and serve all day—these require endurance.
✔ Life’s battles require resilience. Whether you’re in ministry, leading your family, or facing adversity, you need the mental toughness to stand firm.
✔ The enemy wants you weak. If Satan can’t destroy your faith, he will distract you with exhaustion, weakness, and burnout. Base 1520 exists to counter that.
The Three Pillars of Base 1520
Our training is built on three core pillars:
1. Physical Readiness: Strength for the Mission
- Base 1520 programs are designed to develop real-world strength, endurance, and mobility.
- Whether you’re preparing for the mission field, leading a family, or just wanting to steward your body well, you need a body that won’t fail you.
- “So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control.” – 1 Corinthians 9:26-27
2. Mental Resilience: Endurance for the Battle
- Weak minds lead to weak faith. Base 1520 doesn’t just train muscles—we train mental toughness, grit, and resilience.
- Challenges will come. Trials will test your faith. If you are not mentally fortified, you will crumble under pressure.
- “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2
3. Spiritual Strength: The Core of Everything
- At the center of Base 1520 is a commitment to deep, unwavering faith.
- Every workout, every discipline, and every moment of training is rooted in our mission to make Christ known.
- “Train yourself for godliness… for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” – 1 Timothy 4:7-8
